Which London Airport Is Best for Umrah?
London Heathrow is the best airport for Umrah flights. It is the only London airport with direct flights to both Jeddah and Madinah, and the flight takes around 6 hours 45 minutes to Jeddah. Saudia and British Airways both fly the route daily.
If you live closer to Gatwick, Stansted or Luton, indirect flights with one stop are usually £80 to £150 cheaper than direct flights from Heathrow. Common stopovers are Istanbul (Turkish Airlines), Doha (Qatar Airways) and Dubai (Emirates).

Direct flights come as standard with our 4-star Deluxe and 5-star packages from Heathrow. On 3-star and standard 4-star packages, you can upgrade to a direct flight. Ask your consultant for the price difference.
Tip for elderly pilgrims: choose a direct flight if you can. A single 6h 45m flight is far easier than a 12-hour flight with a transfer, and it means you arrive in Makkah rested and ready for Tawaf.

When Should London Pilgrims Travel?
If you are after a cheap Umrah package from London, travel between July and October (the Islamic months of Muharram, Safar and early Rabi al-Awwal). Flights from London are cheaper, the Haram is quieter, and you can save £150 to £300 per person compared with peak dates.
If you are travelling with school-age children, December and Easter fit the school holidays, but book six months ahead because these dates sell out first from London airports.
If reward matters most to you, go in Ramadan. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said Umrah in Ramadan equals the reward of Hajj with him. Ramadan 2027 is expected to run from around 7 February to 8 March 2027. Prices are at their highest then, and hotels near the Haram sell out months in advance, so book by autumn 2026.
